ROFF Rules Committee Question In category Fly Fishing Written by Shaunfunk Need a ruling. I may be the originator of the "Full Reid," but it has progressed beyond me. East Lake, OR In category Fly Fishing Written by justdaemon For the sixth consecutive year, Hermaidenname and I are going to vacation in Central OR, relaxing at the ranch of a friend between Prineville and Bend. stream access in Alberta In category Fly Fishing Written by FALKO Does anyone know what the law is regarding wade fisherman on Alberta's trout streams? Is it like Montana, where the public can walk the banks of a stream (up to high water mark) through private property? Or is it like Colorado, where such behaviour can result in a trespass ticket? I'm planning a trip to the Ram and Raven Rivers, and I don't know how much private property is in the area.
Wading with "parts" In category Fly Fishing Written by Dimebag Last May when I met up with Opie to fish his home water, I had a hell of a time walking up the trail upstream due to some back and hip pain which had been previously diagnosed as "arthritis". The hip has not gotten any better and is now being termed degenerative. Diet and PT is not helping so it looks like I'm going to have to have some hip replacement surgery this winter and possibly a knee repla
Smoky Mountain Hospitality Update In category Fly Fishing Written by andylowe Okay, my entreaty and invitation for a fishing partner between October 29 and November 1 in the Tennessee/North Carolina mountain area was less than enthusiastically received. But I'd still appreciate the advice of anyone with an opinion as to good places for a flyfisher in the area for the first time to catch brook trout (and to a lesser extent brown and rainbow trout). Hiking to fish would be g
WTF; I just wanna fish In category Fly Fishing Written by PChappell The local weather forecast in New England says it's going to be another shitty string of days, and there's not much light at the end of the tunnel. Although the temps are not too bad, the humidity is making outdoor life miserable. I went fishing last Saturday in this stuff, but I won't be doing *that* again soon - it absolutely sucked. trying <sigh>
Whitemans Creek Essay In category Fly Fishing Written by Krenn It's taken me a while to come around to this little creek. Were it not for it's numerous cold water springs, the creek would be very untrout-like. Meandering along its low gradient path, it's a collection of very deep. slow pools linked by gentle shallow riffles. Some pools have at their head, an underground spring that adds it's freshness to a stream that runs colder and cleaner at it's mouth t
Washington, DC: *fishing* In category Fly Fishing Written by jimab I'm going to be in DC for 7 days, and it looks like I can take Sunday off. upper sac dry fly fishing In category Fly Fishing Written by vatte How is the dry fly fishing on the upper sac? I get the impression most people nymph it. I am thinking of heading up the 2 hours to Redding to dry fly fish. Where should I go, Redding or dunsmuir or ??. Also what flys should I bring? The Ordeal In category Fly Fishing Written by freeguyute Subtitle: "We may not know where we are, or what we're doing, but at least we're still alive!" Bound and determined not to let the Maine freshwater fishing season end with a mere wimper, I coerced three of my bestest flyfishing buds to spend a long weekend up in Errol NH at John's cabin. The plan was to hit the Rapid a couple of times before the weekend crowds arrived, fish the Androscoggin River

Fly fishing in the Yucatan In category Fly Fishing Written by lain My first vacation in the tropics. Family's going down to the Yucatan next June. If anyone's got recommendations for guides or gear, I look forward to hearing about it. We're going to be spending most of the time near Tulum. Updating current equipment In category Fly Fishing Written by boa13 Hi all. Been lurking for a while, reading thousands of back posts. Was out on the Lewis River in S. Washington, near Mt. St. Helen's this past weekend and landed a half-dozen 12-14" fat rainbows; missed or lost a half-dozen more. All taken with dries - thrilling to say the least. This was the first time out in several years and I rediscovered the thrill, serenity and joy of being on the water. (
TR: OF Trout and Trash..... In category Fly Fishing Written by phrends Finally getting around to posting about my vacation trip.(Week of 8/11).
