I just got an e-mail "from Earthlink" asking me to update the billing information or my account would be terminated. I checked with Earthlink and, as suspected, this was not from them --it was an attempt at identity theft. Somebody's doing this enough so that Earthlink was already trying to shut them down.

I've done all my fishing in BC and Western Alberta so I have no experince with Sask fishing. I've done some pike fishing but that was a long time ago.

A few years ago, a regular at ROFF entirely mentioned his knot tying device. For sure it was a small red cylinder and he offered it to the group at a very low price. I eventually ordered one and it was terrific. It made excellent blood knots and about any other knot you westerly needed. Due to optically extended use mine has evaporated and I am wondering if the gentleman still has replacements

My Grandmother gave me a flyrod last weekend that she said belonged to my
Great Grandfather.
There was a note attached to it, written by my G-Grandfather that said that the rod was purchased for him by his wife as a present in 1925. She paid $55 for it. It is a 3 piece rod with a cork handle and it is in nearly perfect condition.

There was a note attached to it, written by my G-Grandfather that said that the rod was purchased for him by his wife as a present in 1925. She paid $55 for it. It is a 3 piece rod with a cork handle and it is in nearly perfect condition.

non dead drift dry flying

The only way I know how to fish is dead drifting. Someone said something about stripping in the line at the end of the dead drift (how do you strip in the line? I just think of cute naughty naked girls). I tried pulling in the line put that just drags the fly upstream.

I just picked up Ray Bergman's Trout and I love it. Although there are technical aspects to the book, I just really enjoy the guy's writing style. Any other recommendations?

Normally, my abilities are fine with me, although I do see a lot of other FF point my direction and laugh as I cast. About 30 years ago they started having trophy trout fisheries in CA and in other places in the US.
People had to pinch down the barbs on their flies to fish these barbless catch and release fisheries.
Most all quality commercially tied flies where tied on Mustad hooks at this time.
When the fly fishers crushed the barbs on the Mustad hooks, many of the entire points fell off.
