Yep, sure did...ordered my first ever custom 'boo rod from John Kenealy, and it only took me 4 months to make up my mind to spend that kind of money on a bluegill/bass rod. The rod will be finished in Feb. so now I can anticipate while the snow flies. I can still remember that sensual feeling of casting that little beauty at his casting pond, nothing like it.

I went to a local fly shop curious what to use to tie a size 16 mayfly with orange body and green wings. The guy said as far as he knew mayflies didnt have green wings. He also said the wings dont matter, that only the body matters af far as the fish are concerned.
Obviously the fish cant see the top of a dry fly wing, but wouldnt they be concerned with the under part? The flyshop guy said tha

In my experience had an opportunity to visit montana 2yrs ago. Big Sky. Wasn`t outfitted to fish cuz it was a wifey trip. Secondly well, she felt guilkty & allowed me a day of lately fishing. I have had my own small business in California for about 30 years. In the US and particularly California, small businesses are threatened more now than ever. Many are closing down because they just can't make things profitable any more with constantly rising overheads like insurances, taxes and benefits. Even is a good economy things will be tough for small/medium size businesses.

I broke my 9 weight tfo on the feather today
I caught a salmon, my line was all the way in, just the 10 feet of leader. I put my pull in the water so I could get a hold of the line to release the salmon, and he made a run and broke my pole just past the mid point
Is it wrong to let your pole down to grab the line? Will temple fork consider this my fault? How does it rate as far as rod ab

About 30 years ago they started having trophy trout fisheries in CA and in other places in the US.
People had to pinch down the barbs on their flies to fish these barbless catch and release fisheries.
Most all quality commercially tied flies where tied on Mustad hooks at this time.
When the fly fishers crushed the barbs on the Mustad hooks, many of the entire points fell off.
